What is a Remote Tower Center (RTC)?

Background

The FAA currently has 518 Federal facilities providing Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower Service to 16.1M flights each year. In 1982, the creation of federal contract towers (FCT) demonstrated a cost-saving of almost 75% over the Federal Facilities for smaller airfields. Currently there are 264 Federal towers and approximately 254 FCT towers. To be accepted as a FCT tower, an airport has to meet a Benefit/Cost ratio that many will never achieve. This means that these airports, many of which have commercial airlines flying into their uncontrolled airports, could not afford the opportunity, safety, and control of an ATC Tower, until now!

Remote Tower Technology is the Game Changer to bring the U.S. to the Digital Age of Aviation. Proven in case studies for over 5 years in Europe, remote towers are the next level of innovation, cost savings, safety, and security for the aviation industry. Remote Towers provide a higher level of service than a Federal Tower for any airport, at 40-50% of the cost.

Flight Safety, Increased Service Level, Financial Stewardship, all of these are in the forefront of aviation industry leaders' minds every day.

- How can we grow, save money , and develop our counties, states, and nation?

- How can we return to being the leader in the aviation industry above other nations?

Europe has conducted case studies on remote towers for more 5 years, including main European airports such as London City and large multi-airport deployments such as NINOX project in Norway (see links in Links section for further info about NINOX project), aimed to implement up to 40 remote towers connected to a single RTC located in the city of Bodo. China intends to implement Remote Tower technology for over 500 airfields in the next five years. Brazil is developing remote tower usage to connect their entire country's aviation industry from a centralized location. These countries have realized the cost saving, and aviation growth potential for Remote Tower technology. They have taken the steps to bring aviation into the 21st century. The question is:
